I love sports. But I’m really good at playing them.

I’ve played soccer, rugby league, ping pong, bowling, and lawn bowls. A jack of all trades, but more of a master of watching from the sidelines, yelling from the couch, or dissecting plays at the pub.

So when AMP Bank wanted to position their new app, AMP Bank Go, as the cheerleader that celebrates mini businesses from the sidelines, I knew exactly how to bring that sideline spirit to life.

I wrote and directed a series of social-first skits that turned fictional mini business owners into their own kind of sports stars - each with their own style of play, unique commentary, and that unmistakable game day energy brought to the everyday hustle.

And only one uniquely Aussie phrase could capture that Aussie spirit we all felt watching while Cathy Freeman, John Aloisi, or to a lesser extent, Steve Bradbury's miracle moments - “Go you good thing!” That cheer-from-your-seat expression that tied every sketch back to the sideline spirit of AMP Bank Go.
